Week 2 Blog Post
What did I learn this week?
In this week I learned about the different characteristics of living things, and how seeds germinate. We got to plant our own seeds and experience life first-hand.
Am I able to relate this to what I already knew?
I am able to connect this to what I already knew, because in biology I learned about the different characteristics of life, but now I am learning about how a seed germinates. This connects to the characteristics of life but teaches me how a new form of life, plants, begins.
How can I apply this to my teaching in the future?
I find the part about learning how seeds grow and germinating our own seeds to be something I want to use in the future. Having my students make their own life and see firsthand how living things operate would be a great science lesson to use in my classroom.
Tyler, I like how you explained how you would apply what you learned in class to your future classroom. I think it is important as educators to understand and do projects before just assigning them to students. Great blog post!
ReplyDeleteHi Tyler, I liked what you put for your future classroom, having the students get a hands-on experience with seed germination will help them have a better understanding. Great post!
